Hello Visitor:

We are sending you a new bulletin with news and press releases that we have published over the past few weeks on the Convergence of Cultures website.

We know that there are many groups and teams in every corner of the planet, but there are still very few who are well-represented on the web. We are urging you to send news, photos, videos, materials etc. of your group or base team.

We want the website to reflect the great mosaic of initiatives that humanists are implementing all over the world; in different ways, using different resources, but with the same desired outcome to build a universal humane nation.

We continue to support the community “Qom La primavera”

Buenos Aires, Argentina. We got aware of the conflict when part of that community moved to Buenos Aires and set up a camp in the heart of the city to draw the attention of the authorities and the press about the violation of their rights.

The Wish Tree

A few days before the beginning of the new year we did an activity called “The Wish Tree” in the neighborhood of Carabanchel (Madrid). We went out, chose a tree and we got working. The objective: neighbors rescuing the best wishes for this 2011, and for this, we created a space where people could express themselves freely in a positive and hopeful environment.

Convergence of Cultures is not naming any winners

In a recent press release from Pressenza (04/01/11) about the Ivory Coast, we were mentioned saying that “Numerous organisations are denouncing the Ivory Coast’s current situation, but they are stressing the necessity to give a non-violent response. In this way, activists of the organisation Convergence of Cultures have made public a communiqué which demands that every possible avenue for dialogue be thoroughly explored. (...)”

Ivory Coast: right and capacity to resolve his destination

From the humanist organization Convergence of Cultures, we express our grave concern about the escalation of violence facing sectors of Ivory Coast since the recent presidential elections and call on the parties to seek through dialogue a free and peaceful solution to avoid further suffering of all.

After protest of the tower: an evaluation of this experience

The protest, which took place on and under the Via Imbonati tower in Milan, has ended. The initiative achieved some of its objectives: the disastrous consequences of the fraudulent amnesty of 2009, with 50.000 immigrants who are without residence permits, have been exposed clearly. . Read more
