Mollet (Barcelona-Spain). La The humanist association Amalgama that belongs to Mollet’s Intercultural Platform is going to organize the 1st party of cultures at Can Mulà Park on the 3rd of June. The promoters explain how the idea of this party was born:
From September 2011 until May 2012, different cultural and social associations of MolletdelVallès (Barcelona), as well as common people have been meeting every two weeks in anexchange and deepening process, based on an Intercultural Manifesto (MI) for a real dialogue between cultures.
The idea of this party came up because in our environment is appearing a climate of discriminationand even racism against other cultures people (the same thing certainly, that happens across Europe).
Explanations about the Manifesto’s aims:
• The MI is useful to meet people who are worried about the intercultural relationshipwhile we are exchanging views and deepening into the manifesto..
• So that, once the MI is concluded, it will serve us like our theoretical framework for acting together, in other words, to know what we want, what we aspire...
• In order that it stimulates us to act together (unity is strength) and to try to affect in our fellow-citizens in the values of the interculturality.
• Go forward, on our way, towards the universal human nation that we aspire.
In the process, we saw the possibility of celebrating a great Intercultural party about June. The idea was that this day will be very participative, with a lot of interrelationship and thatall these topics were entering instead of through the head, through the skin; by the contact with the others.
During the celebration, which will feature workshops, music, batukada (drums) and lots of participation, we will read the Intercultural Manifesto elaborated by the entities, as well as the Intercultural child Manifesto (Decalogue of positive aspects of the interculturality).
If you live in Mollet or in the surroundings of Barcelona, don't miss this party!
